I had a small, short, and low nose,
and my nostrils were quite visible from the front,
which had always been a concern for me.
I wanted to move away from a flat, undefined look
to a more refined and polished appearance.
While researching rhinoplasty clinics,
I focused on a few key factors:
whether it was a single-surgeon clinic,
whether a board-certified anesthesiologist was present,
and whether post-operative care was well managed.
Of course, it also had to match my aesthetic preference.
I did not want an overly thin or sharply pointed tip.
I preferred a softer, rounded tip line,
and felt that this would suit my face best.
At RU Plastic Surgery, my procedure included
a silicone implant for the bridge,
autologous rib cartilage for the tip,
and bulbous tip correction.
In my case, there was minimal swelling and bruising,
so the recovery process was not particularly difficult.
I had heard that rib cartilage procedures can be painful,
but I only felt some tightness and discomfort on the day of surgery.
From the next day onward, it was quite manageable.
Post-operative care has been very attentive.
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim personally checks my progress
and makes sure I do not have any discomfort or concerns.
The consultant manager and staff have also been very kind and supportive,
which I truly appreciated.
Now at two weeks post-op,
I can already see the straight yet slightly curved line I wanted,
and the columella shape has turned out beautifully.
With the nasolabial angle improved,
the protruded appearance of my mouth has also been balanced.
I am especially happy that my nostrils are less visible from the front.
Since I heard that tip swelling is the last to subside,
I am even more excited to see the final result.
