Revision Rhinoplasty for a Drooping Nasal Tip – 2 Months Post-Op
본문

I underwent surgery for a deviated nose,
including deviated septum correction,
a septal cartilage graft for the nasal tip,
and a silicone implant for the bridge.
Over time, however,
my nasal tip became longer and started to droop,
while the bridge gradually appeared S-shaped and deviated.
Since my facial axis is naturally quite asymmetrical
and I also have malocclusion,
I wasn’t expecting perfect symmetry.
My main goal was to make the asymmetry less noticeable
and create a shorter-looking, more balanced nose.
During my consultation,
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim reviewed my CT scan
and explained the problems and possible improvements
in detail using a tablet.
My septal cartilage was severely deviated
and very little remained,
so he planned to reinforce the weakened septum
with autologous rib cartilage
and create stronger nasal tip support
while lowering the columella.
After the detailed consultation,
the surgical explanation using a PPT,
and the kindness of the staff,
I felt confident choosing RU Plastic Surgery
for my revision rhinoplasty.
My surgery used autologous rib cartilage
and a silicone implant.
I also underwent paranasal augmentation
and facial fat grafting
to improve the recessed areas of my face.
Immediately after surgery,
I actually felt better than expected.
However, the nasal congestion became quite uncomfortable
later that evening,
and my mouth felt extremely dry.
As the anesthesia wore off,
the fat-grafted areas also started to feel sore.
Since I had fat grafting at the same time,
my face was quite swollen during the first one to two weeks.
After about a month,
the fullness and unfamiliar appearance gradually subsided,
and movement around my upper lip also became more comfortable.
It has now been over two months
since my revision rhinoplasty.
I’m very satisfied with my nasal line,
and people around me often tell me
that my overall appearance has changed for the better.
So far, I’m very happy with the result.
