Improving Midface Flatness with Rhinoplasty and Facial Fat Grafting
본문

Before / 6M post-op
From the side, I had always felt that my face looked relatively flat.
I was particularly concerned about the lack of volume in my midface, as well as the overall low height and small size of my nose.
More than frontal photographs, I was especially self-conscious about how my face looked in side-profile photos.
While researching different clinics, I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
I was drawn to the results because they looked natural overall while still maintaining a well-defined and refined nasal tip, so I decided to schedule a consultation.
Even before my first rhinoplasty, I had already been considering the use of autologous rib cartilage
because I wanted a more structured and reliable approach using my own tissue.
RU Plastic Surgery closely matched what I had been looking for in that regard.
Although I was initially nervous about undergoing rhinoplasty,
Dr. Hyunju Kim explained the surgical plan in detail during the consultation.
His thorough explanation gave me confidence that I could comfortably proceed with surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
My surgical plan included autologous rib cartilage, silicone augmentation of the nasal bridge,
nasolabial angle correction, and correction of the bulbous nasal tip.
I also underwent full-face fat grafting to improve the overall facial balance and add volume to areas that appeared relatively flat.
One of the aspects I appreciated most was that the design did not focus on creating an excessively dramatic change.
Instead, the goal was to enhance the side profile naturally and create smoother harmony between the nose and the surrounding facial contours.
It has now been approximately six months since surgery.
At this stage, both the major swelling and the subtle residual swelling have essentially resolved,
allowing the nasal contour to appear much more defined while still looking natural and well integrated with my face.
The nasal tip, which initially felt firm after surgery,
has also gradually softened over time and now feels much more natural.
I am especially pleased with how smoothly the increased midface volume transitions into the nasal contour.
Together, these changes have given my side profile noticeably greater depth and three-dimensional definition without making the overall appearance look excessive.
The fat grafting has also settled in a way that feels natural and balanced rather than overfilled, which is exactly what I had hoped for.
Whether viewed from the front, side, or three-quarter angle,
I feel that the overall proportions of my face are now much more harmonious.
I also feel far more comfortable taking photos than I did before surgery,
especially from angles that previously made me self-conscious.
Now that six months have passed, I continue to feel that choosing RU Plastic Surgery for my rhinoplasty and facial fat grafting was the right decision for me.
The overall result has continued to look increasingly natural with time,
and I remain very satisfied with the improvement in both my nasal contour and overall facial balance.
