I decided to undergo rhinoplasty
because I had a hump nose with a prominent bump
along the bridge and a drooping tip,
which made my side profile look unbalanced
and affected my confidence.
My goal was to achieve a smoother bridge
and a naturally elevated tip line
that would create a more harmonious profile.
While researching and consulting at several clinics,
I learned that a family member had undergone rhinoplasty
at RU Plastic Surgery and was extremely satisfied,
so I decided to schedule a consultation there as well.
One thing I really appreciated
was that unlike other clinics,
they took detailed photographs of my nose
and used them to explain the expected surgical process step by step.
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim continuously asked
if I had any additional questions
and carefully explained even the smallest details,
which allowed me to go into surgery feeling fully informed and comfortable.
Since my bridge was already relatively high
but the tip drooped downward,
the plan was to remove only the hump
without using an implant for the bridge,
while using autologous rib cartilage
to improve the tip projection and position.
Recovery went very smoothly.
The swelling was minimal,
and I experienced very little bruising as well.
I also feel that the clinic’s postoperative care program,
including swelling laser treatments and IV therapy,
helped support a comfortable recovery.
After surgery,
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim personally checked my progress
at each follow-up visit,
which made me feel reassured throughout the healing process.
The hump that bothered me most
and the drooping tip have both improved significantly,
so I’m extremely happy with the result. :)
