I originally had rhinoplasty about 17 years ago
simply because I wanted to.
At the time, Gore-Tex was used,
and I was fairly satisfied with it in the beginning.
However, as the years passed,
I started feeling increasingly uncomfortable with my nose.
The Gore-Tex seemed to become tightly attached to the surrounding tissues,
and I often wondered whether that was affecting circulation,
because my nasal symptoms also felt like they were gradually getting worse.
The functional issues were frustrating,
but what bothered me even more
was the pinched, operated-looking appearance of my nasal tip.
Over time, I became more and more determined
to improve those issues,
which ultimately led me to consider revision surgery.
While researching,
I happened to come across RU Plastic Surgery
through a plastic surgery app.
I noticed that many revision rhinoplasty cases were being performed there,
and the results were exactly the style I was looking for.
I immediately made a consultation appointment.
Even then,
I went in thinking,
"Let me just hear the consultation first."
From the moment I arrived,
the consultation manager was incredibly kind and professional,
which immediately gave me a positive impression.
Then when Dr. Hyun Joo Kim came in for the consultation,
the way he explained everything felt completely different
from what I had experienced elsewhere.
The level of detail, honesty, and kindness
gave me an immediate sense of confidence.
For the first time,
I left a consultation feeling completely certain.
Since I have no plans for any future rhinoplasty procedures,
I wanted the most definitive solution possible.
So I chose a completely implant-free approach
using only autologous rib cartilage.
The result has honestly exceeded my expectations.
The swelling improved much faster than I expected,
and even the columella incision is barely noticeable.
What surprises me the most
is how comfortable my nose feels now.
When I still had the Gore-Tex implant,
my nose constantly felt uncomfortable,
but even though it has only been a month since revision surgery,
that discomfort is essentially gone.
I didn’t even undergo separate functional nasal surgery,
yet breathing feels noticeably more comfortable than before.
The nasal tip and alar contours were refined beautifully,
and the overall nasal line looks incredibly natural.
More than anything,
I feel fortunate to have met Dr. Hyun Joo Kim.
It’s rare to find someone who combines surgical skill,
kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for patients.
Throughout both the surgery and recovery process,
I felt reassured and well cared for every step of the way.
I’m truly grateful to Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
