1 Month After Functional Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage

Hello. My nose was not something that stood out dramatically,
but personally, I had always been bothered by the hump visible from the side.
From the front, it was not very noticeable,
so most people never thought I was concerned about my nose,
but whenever I took photos or looked at my profile,
the uneven line kept bothering me.
Because of that, I had been thinking for a long time
about refining my nasal line in a natural way,
and eventually decided to look into rhinoplasty.

along with a 2mm silicone implant
to refine the overall line.
Right after surgery, there was swelling
and the shape felt slightly unfamiliar,
but over time, as the swelling gradually decreased,
I could see the line becoming more refined,
which made me feel reassured.
In the beginning, there was some tightness
and I had to be careful around the nose area,
but overall, daily life was not too uncomfortable.
Now at around 3–4 weeks after surgery,
the swelling has improved significantly,
and the nasal line is settling more naturally.
The most satisfying part is that
the hump, which had been my biggest concern,
has been cleanly corrected,
making my side profile look much smoother.
Even from the front,
the overall shape looks more refined than before,
which has improved my overall impression as well.
Recently, I visited RU Plastic Surgery
for a follow-up with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
and was told that recovery is progressing normally and well.
Although it still needs more time to fully settle,
I was reassured that the current progress is very good,
and that the line will continue to look even more natural
as the remaining swelling improves.
I had many concerns before surgery,
but now I feel that the part that bothered me most
has been improved very naturally.
I’m still in the recovery process,
but even with the current changes alone,
my satisfaction is already very high,
and I’m looking forward to how it will continue to settle over time.
