2 Weeks After Revision Rhinoplasty for Short Nose (Male)

I originally had septoplasty at a university hospital,
and at the same time wanted to improve the aesthetic aspect,
so I had rhinoplasty to raise my low bridge.
After about 4 years, I gradually noticed my nose becoming upturned,
with visible nostrils and a collapsed-looking columella,
so I decided to look into revision surgery.
Through online communities, I searched for clinics
specializing in revision rhinoplasty and selected a few options.
Among them was RU Plastic Surgery,
and after watching the clinic’s YouTube and reviewing cases,
I felt that Dr. Hyun Joo Kim’s approach and results
matched what I was looking for, so I booked a consultation.
For the revision, I corrected my short and low nose
using autologous rib cartilage for strong structural support,
and used silicone for the bridge to refine the shape.
Right after surgery, there was almost no significant pain,
and overall, the recovery felt easier than expected.
I was concerned about rib cartilage pain,
but aside from mild soreness,
it wasn’t particularly painful.
From the day of surgery to the next day,
breathing was uncomfortable due to nasal packing,
so I had to breathe through my mouth,
which caused dryness and a sore throat.
There was also constant nasal discharge,
requiring frequent cleaning and ointment application,
and taking medication three times a day felt a bit tedious.
About a week later, when the columella stitches were removed,
I was surprised at how clean the incision looked,
almost unnoticeable for just one week.
After removing the splint and reaching 2 weeks,
my nose started to settle,
and the shape looked naturally refined.
My nose was very low before surgery,
so it still amazes me how much it has improved.
There is still slight swelling on the bridge,
and I’m looking forward to how it will look
once all the swelling is gone.
The frontal nostril exposure and
the flat, dish-like side profile that bothered me
seem to be fully improved, which makes me very satisfied.
