1 Month After Male Rhinoplasty
본문

This is my 1 month review after undergoing
autologous rib rhinoplasty, implant-free bridge surgery,
functional nasal surgery, and alar reduction
with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
Originally, I was told that exercise would be possible after one month,
but by week 2, I felt frustrated not being able to work out,
so I received permission to do very light cycling.
From week 3, I returned to weight training.
There were still some exercise restrictions,
and since I used autologous rib cartilage,
machines with chest support pads
were especially limited because they directly press on the rib area.
The pain at the rib donor site
is still slightly present in daily life,
but it continues to improve gradually.
At my 1 month follow-up,
I was told that the rib incision site
was healing very cleanly.
I also had a lot of nasal discharge after surgery,
and although it still happens occasionally,
I can definitely feel it decreasing over time.
Overall, recovery has been very smooth,
and I didn’t even need to use ice packs once
because there was almost no swelling or bruising.
Right after the splint was removed,
I thought the shape wouldn’t change much,
but compared to then,
the nasal line has become more defined and slimmer.
Even though it has only been one month,
when I compare it to my old photos,
I can clearly see improvement in the wide alar base,
short nose appearance,
and nostril exposure that used to bother me.
