It has now been three months since my primary rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage.
Time really flies.
Since I work in a service industry where appearance matters,
I started considering nose surgery first, as it is the center of the face.
After looking through many reviews,
I found that the results from RU Plastic Surgery suited my taste the most.
There were various styles, from straight to softly curved lines,
but what I liked most was how the tip looked natural yet refined.
That made me decide to book a consultation right away.
During my consultation with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim,
he explained everything in great detail.
He recommended a nose shape that suited me well,
and when I shared my preferences,
he clearly explained both the pros and cons.
That honesty gave me a strong sense of trust.
I decided on the spot and scheduled my surgery.
My surgical plan included
autologous rib cartilage for the tip,
a thin silicone implant for the bridge,
bulbous tip correction,
and nasolabial angle adjustment.
I originally had a narrow nasolabial angle,
which made my mouth appear slightly protruded
and my side profile looked a bit heavy.
He explained that improving the angle would balance my profile,
and although it looked slightly over-rotated at first,
it has now settled into a very natural position.
At the three-month mark,
the residual swelling has reduced significantly.
The shape is becoming more natural day by day,
and it does not look like “just a nose,”
but rather blends naturally with my overall face.
That is what I am most satisfied with.
Choosing autologous rib cartilage for my first surgery
was definitely the right decision.
I often hear that many people end up needing revision rhinoplasty,
but I am very happy that I do not feel that need.
