I decided to undergo rhinoplasty
because I didn’t like how wide
and spread my nose looked.
While searching for information
through Instagram and YouTube,
I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
I wanted a natural result
while still improving my bulbous nose,
and the reviews from RU
showed consistently natural outcomes,
which led me to book a consultation.
I also liked that the clinic
specializes in revision cases,
and seeing that Dr. Hyunjoo Kim
personally follows up after surgery
gave me even more confidence.
Even though the cost was similar
to revision surgery,
I decided to invest properly
and aim for the best result in one surgery.
During consultation,
I was told that I had a short nose tip
but a relatively high bridge.
To correct the wide appearance,
the tip needed to be elevated,
but raising only the tip
would create a step-off,
so the bridge was also raised by 3 mm.
My procedure included
autologous rib cartilage,
bulbous nose correction,
columella lowering,
and nasolabial angle adjustment.
Right after surgery,
nasal congestion and discharge
were the most uncomfortable parts.
Now, at over three weeks post-op,
the rib donor site is actually
more painful than the nose itself.
Coughing or sneezing still causes pain,
so I have to hold my chest
and try to suppress it.
That part has been the most difficult
during recovery,
especially managing daily activities alone.
Because of the remaining swelling,
I can’t fully assess
the bulbous nose correction yet,
so I know I need more time.
However, I am already satisfied
with how the nasal tip
has been elevated so far,
and I’m looking forward to seeing
further improvement as healing continues.
