I decided to undergo revision surgery because my nasal tip was blunt and low,
which gave my face a somewhat cute impression.
I wanted a more refined and sophisticated look.
I was hoping for a straight-to-slightly-curved nasal line
with a rounded yet projected tip.
After reviewing the before-and-after photos on the RU Plastic Surgery website,
I felt confident that my desired shape could be achieved there.
One of the main reasons I chose this clinic
was my previous experience at a large, factory-style hospital
about ten years ago for my first surgery.
At that time, I felt that postoperative care was lacking.
Since this was a major revision procedure,
I wanted a one-surgeon system where the doctor
would take full responsibility throughout the entire process.
Hearing that Dr. Hyunjoo Kim personally manages his patients
from surgery through follow-up gave me strong reassurance.
In the end, I am very satisfied with my decision.
Dr. Kim explained that raising the starting point of the nasal bridge too much
could create an overly masculine appearance.
Instead, he recommended a thin layer of silicone for the bridge,
autologous rib cartilage for tip projection,
and nasolabial angle correction to enhance the harmony
between the nose and upper lip line.
Before surgery, I was extremely anxious about rib cartilage harvesting
and had difficulty sleeping.
It was also my first experience with general anesthesia,
which initially felt intimidating.
However, I learned that general anesthesia can be safer
than sedation in terms of infection control and overall safety,
and with the support of the consultation manager,
I was able to manage my anxiety and proceed confidently.
The surgery was scheduled for two and a half hours
but was completed in approximately two hours.
After being told the procedure went well,
I rested in the recovery room and returned home the same day.
On the first day, I experienced throat discomfort from general anesthesia
and noticeable rib pain.
After the nasal packing was removed,
nasal congestion and rib discomfort were the most challenging aspects.
However, rib pain improved significantly after three days,
and nasal congestion gradually subsided over time.
Bruising and swelling were minimal from the beginning,
and after splint removal,
careful adherence to postoperative instructions
helped the swelling resolve smoothly.
The result reflects exactly what I had hoped for:
a natural straight nasal line with a softly rounded tip.
I am also very satisfied with the level of postoperative care,
especially the meticulous follow-up examinations
provided personally by Dr. Kim at every visit.
