Male Rhinoplasty After Cleft Lip Repair

I had cleft lip surgery a long time ago.
Although the condition was not severe,
I still felt some dissatisfaction with the shape of my nose.
My columella looked somewhat retracted,

using autologous rib cartilage could significantly improve
the asymmetry and overall nasal balance.
After hearing this explanation, I decided to trust Dr. Kim
and scheduled my surgery.
The early postoperative period was quite challenging.
Since this was my first cosmetic surgery,
I did not fully anticipate how difficult the recovery might feel.
Because the procedure was performed under general anesthesia,
the throat discomfort afterward was particularly noticeable.
The rib cartilage donor site was also painful at first.
I was told that men sometimes experience more discomfort
due to greater muscle mass.
For about the first week, coughing or using my upper body
caused some pain, but it gradually improved.
At each follow-up visit, Dr. Kim personally checked my condition,
which gave me a lot of reassurance.
I strongly believe that if any complication were to occur,
the surgeon should be the one evaluating it directly.
During the first one to two months,
I worried that residual swelling made my nose look slightly large.
However, now at around three months,
my nose appears noticeably smaller and more refined
when viewed from the front compared to before surgery.
People around me often say that my facial features
look much more defined now,
and many ask where I had the procedure done.
