My initial rhinoplasty was performed at a large clinic
for cosmetic purposes.
Over time, I began noticing whitening at the nasal tip,
which made me increasingly anxious.
I then started extensive research focused on contracted nose revision.
During this process, I came across many reviews of RU Plastic Surgery
and decided to schedule an in-person consultation.
Although I hoped my condition was not contracture,
the evaluation confirmed that it was.
The nasal tip skin had become extremely thin,
and there was a real risk of silicone extrusion.
I was advised that complete implant removal was necessary,
even if stem cell therapy was performed.
Shortly after the consultation,
I underwent total implant removal.
To support tissue recovery,
I received stem cell treatments at two-week intervals
and allowed sufficient time for healing.
Approximately four months after removal,
I proceeded with contracted nose revision surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
The revision was performed using only autologous tissue.
The nasal bridge was reconstructed with temporalis fascia
and autologous rib cartilage,
while the nasal tip was supported with rib cartilage.
The plan also included columellar reconstruction
and short nose correction.
Dr. Hyunjoo Kim emphasized throughout
that autologous tissue is essential
for successful contracted nose revision.
My primary concerns were the lifted short nose
and the bulky nasal appearance.
In the early postoperative period,
I was somewhat concerned about the rib harvest scar
and the incision above the hairline
used for temporalis fascia harvesting.
However, now at six months postoperatively,
overall satisfaction has far outweighed those concerns.
Because my skin is relatively thick,
I would not say the frontal view is 100% perfect.
That said, it no longer causes any concern in daily life.
Given that I work in a profession involving frequent face-to-face interaction,
the previously exposed nostrils were a major source of stress.
That issue has now improved significantly,
and I am very satisfied.
At this point, I barely remember my previous nasal shape.
The lateral profile, in particular,
turned out beautifully,
and I feel grateful every time I see it.
Honestly, I find the result even better
than after my first surgery.
For anyone considering revision rhinoplasty,
I strongly recommend scheduling a consultation
with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
