Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage for a Low and Drooping Nose
본문

Before / 1M post-op
My nose had always been relatively low, and from the frontal view, the nasal tip appeared broad and spread out.
This was something I became especially self-conscious about whenever I took photos.
I also had significant rhinitis symptoms, so I had been considering functional nasal surgery in addition to cosmetic rhinoplasty.
After thinking about surgery for several years,
I finally decided to proceed with rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage together with functional nasal surgery.
While researching different clinics, I found that the rhinoplasty results at RU Plastic Surgery closely matched the type of nose I personally preferred,
and I also came across many positive patient reviews. This led me to schedule a consultation.
During the consultation, I was impressed that Dr. Hyunju Kim identified several concerns I had about my facial features even before I mentioned them myself.
He explained these points honestly and clearly, which made the consultation feel very thorough.
He also explained the functional nasal procedure for rhinitis and the overall surgical approach in detail.
As I listened to his explanation, I became increasingly confident that RU Plastic Surgery was the right place for me to undergo the procedure.
To be honest, I was extremely nervous before surgery.
However, the day of surgery passed much more quickly than I expected.
After waking up from anesthesia, the most uncomfortable part was having nasal packing in place,
as I had to breathe through my mouth. Fortunately, the packing was removed the following day,
which made the recovery process much more comfortable.
When the nasal splint was removed, I was finally able to see the overall contour clearly, and I was very pleased with the shape.
The result looked very close to what I had originally hoped for.
People around me have also commented that my overall appearance looks different and that I look more refined, which has made me even more satisfied with the result.
After approximately one month, most of the major swelling had subsided, and I noticed that my nose photographed much better than before.
At this point, I am very satisfied with both the aesthetic improvement and the overall recovery process.
Most importantly, I now feel much more comfortable and confident taking photos, which has made a meaningful difference in my everyday life.
