One-Month Review After Functional Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage

I had always felt that my nasal bridge was relatively low and that the tip of my nose looked somewhat broad and blunt, which often left me dissatisfied when taking photos.
My biggest concern was that my side profile appeared rather flat, and I wanted to add more natural definition and dimension to my face without creating an overly dramatic change. This ultimately led me to consider rhinoplasty.
I first learned about RU Plastic Surgery through patient rhinoplasty reviews and scheduled a consultation after researching several different clinics.
During the consultation, Dr. Hyunju Kim carefully evaluated the condition of my nose and explained a design that would complement the overall proportions of my face rather than simply focusing on increasing the height of the nose.
I appreciated his detailed approach and the confidence he showed in his surgical planning, which gave me greater trust in proceeding with the surgery.
Following the consultation, I underwent rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage and silicone.
Immediately after surgery, the swelling was less significant than I had expected, although I did experience some bruising and firmness around the nasal tip.
During the early recovery period, I was also concerned that the area between my eyes appeared slightly narrower than usual. At times, the nose also seemed somewhat upturned, and I noticed some redness, which made me check my appearance in the mirror quite frequently.
The clinic explained that these changes could occur during the postoperative healing process, and I have gradually noticed improvement as time has passed.
It has now been approximately one month since surgery.
Although some swelling is still present, the overall nasal contour already appears much more refined than before, and I am particularly satisfied with the improvement in my side profile.
Since I am still in the recovery stage, I expect the nose to continue becoming softer and more natural as the remaining swelling subsides.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the progress so far. I also appreciated that the clinic responded quickly and kindly whenever I had questions or concerns during the recovery process.
