Three-Month Review After My First Rhinoplasty
본문

Before / 3m post-op
It has been approximately three months since I underwent my first rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage, and I wanted to share how I feel about the result at this stage of recovery.
Immediately after surgery, it was difficult to clearly evaluate the final shape because of the swelling. As time passed, however, the swelling gradually decreased and I could see the nose settling into a more natural appearance.
The area I had been most concerned about before surgery was the dorsal hump. I am especially satisfied that this has been corrected in a natural way, creating a much smoother and softer side profile.
Rather than making the nose excessively high or giving it an artificial appearance, the overall contour now blends harmoniously with the rest of my facial features, which is one of the aspects I appreciate most.
Now that about three months have passed, I rarely experience any discomfort related to my nose in everyday life.
Before surgery, I often found myself focusing on the shape of my nose whenever I looked in the mirror or took photos. That sense of self-consciousness has decreased significantly, and I feel increasingly comfortable with my appearance.
The result also seems to become more natural as time passes, which has gradually increased my satisfaction with the surgery.
I recently visited RU Plastic Surgery for a postoperative follow-up with Dr. Hyunju Kim.
He carefully examined both the current shape of my nose and the overall healing progress, and explained that the recovery was proceeding well without any particular concerns. Hearing this was very reassuring.
I was also told that a small amount of residual swelling may still continue to subside and that the nose is expected to settle even more naturally over time.
Before deciding to undergo surgery, I had many concerns and uncertainties. At this point, however, I am very satisfied that the area I had been most self-conscious about has improved in such a natural way.
In particular, the correction of the dorsal hump has made my overall facial impression appear softer and more refined, which has contributed greatly to my satisfaction.
At three months postoperatively, the recovery has been progressing smoothly and I am very pleased with the result so far. I feel that choosing to undergo the surgery was a good decision, and I am looking forward to seeing the nose become even more settled and refined over time.
