Reconstructive Rhinoplasty for Severe Contracture Following Implant Removal > 리얼셀카 | RU성형외과

After undergoing complete removal of my nasal implant at another clinic due to infection,

my nasal shape became severely deformed to the point that daily life was difficult.

While searching for cases related to extreme nasal reconstruction and contracted nose repair,

I came across RU Plastic Surgery.

As I read patient reviews, I also learned that the clinic had a YouTube channel

and began watching their surgical videos.

After reviewing Dr. Hyunjoo Kim’s surgical approach and detailed explanations,

I developed a strong sense of trust and decided to visit the clinic.

Beginning in August 2025, I underwent three sessions of stem cell therapy

and five sessions of blood-derived stem cell treatment.

Through this process, the nasal tissues became significantly softer,

and areas that had been folded and contracted showed noticeable improvement.

Once my condition stabilized, I was able to proceed with surgery in January 2026.

Rather than focusing on cosmetic refinement,

the primary goal was reconstruction of the contracted nose.

Given my history of infection, silicone was avoided.

Instead, diced autologous rib cartilage wrapped in temporalis fascia

was used to reconstruct and support the nasal bridge.

The procedure also included lowering of the nasal tip,

columellar reconstruction, and restoration of collapsed and pinched areas.

At present, there is still some bruising and scarring in the previously folded areas,

which will require additional time to fully assess.

Swelling also remains, but the nasal shape has improved significantly compared to before surgery,

to the point that I am now comfortable going out without a mask.

Pain at the rib cartilage donor site decreased substantially after about one week,

and while mild tightness remains,

I am able to carry out daily activities without difficulty.

This was an incredibly discouraging period in my life,

and I truly believe it was a great stroke of luck to have met Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
