Two-Week Postoperative Update After Revision Rhinoplasty

I am sharing photos taken slightly over two weeks after my revision rhinoplasty.
Before revision surgery,
my nose had a silicone implant along the nasal bridge,
with donor dermis and auricular cartilage used at the nasal tip.
Over time, the implant gradually shifted and became visible,
the nasal tip descended, making the nose appear longer,
and absorption of the donor dermis caused asymmetry,
resulting in a pinched and sunken appearance on one side.
After careful consideration, I decided to undergo revision surgery
during a recent visit to Korea.
My primary goals were a completely autologous, implant-free approach,
with aesthetic refinement including a lower starting point of the nasal bridge
to create a slightly shorter appearance,
adequate dorsal width to avoid an overly narrow look,
a natural frontal appearance without obvious signs of surgery,
and improvement of the nasolabial angle
to help balance the appearance of mild lip protrusion.
I consulted with four clinics in Korea,
and ultimately underwent surgery with Dr. Kim Hyun Joo at RU Plastic Surgery,
known through his educational surgical content online.
Although postoperative swelling is still significant at this stage,
I am extremely satisfied with the results so far,
as all of my requested goals appear to have been addressed appropriately.
Because I traveled from the United States,
I requested an expedited surgical schedule,
and the procedure was performed in the evening.
The anesthesia team and staff remained with me until late at night
to ensure proper postoperative care.
A large reference image of my desired nasal shape
was printed and displayed in the operating room during surgery.
The facility was very clean,
and Dr. Kim carefully remembered and reflected each of my requests.
The staff were consistently attentive and kind throughout the process.
For those considering a final revision rhinoplasty using only autologous tissue,
I would confidently recommend this approach and clinic.
The primary drawback is the cost, which is quite high.
However, since I was already undergoing revision surgery,
I felt it was important to proceed at a clinic that truly aligned with my goals.
Although swelling remains at this stage,
I am sharing these photos with confidence in the healing process ahead.
