Autologous Costal Cartilage Rhinoplasty for Improved Facial Profile
본문

From the side profile, my face often appeared flat,
and I was consistently conscious of having a nose that was
overall low and small in proportion to my face.
I especially disliked being photographed from the side,
and this became a long-standing personal concern.
After years of hesitation, I decided that I did not want
to delay any longer and chose to proceed with
autologous costal cartilage rhinoplasty.
While researching clinics, I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
After watching influencer Instagram reels,
I was drawn to the nasal lines that looked natural
yet had a clear sense of presence.
From the beginning, I was certain that I wanted
to undergo my first surgery using autologous cartilage,
and RU Plastic Surgery felt like an ideal match for that goal.
I was particularly concerned about potential columellar damage,
but hearing that the columella would be directly designed
and reconstructed during surgery significantly increased my trust.
During consultation, I asked many detailed questions,
and both the consultant and Dr. Kim Hyun Joo
explained everything thoroughly and clearly,
which gave me the confidence to proceed with surgery.
Based on consultation, the final surgical plan included
autologous costal cartilage, silicone augmentation,
nasolabial angle correction, and bulbous tip correction.
To enhance overall facial balance,
a second session of facial fat grafting was also planned.
I was particularly impressed by how the design focused
on achieving a noticeable yet natural improvement in my side profile,
without appearing excessive.
I am currently still in the recovery phase,
with some residual swelling gradually resolving.
Even at this stage, however, I am genuinely satisfied with the results.
People around me frequently comment that my face looks
more refined and aesthetically balanced,
which has made the changes feel very real.
As the swelling continues to subside,
I anticipate the nasal lines will become even more defined.
Because the fat grafting includes a second stage,
there is currently a slight reduction in volume,
but I expect improved facial fullness once the process is complete.
Overall, I have no regrets about my decision,
and both the surgical outcome and the entire experience
have been highly satisfying.
