Two-Month Postoperative Review After Tip-Focused Rhinoplasty for Hump and Long Nose
본문

Before surgery, I decided to undergo rhinoplasty
due to a prominent dorsal hump and an elongated nasal appearance.
When smiling, my nose tended to widen,
and the nostrils flared noticeably, creating an arrow-shaped appearance.
For this reason, I wished to focus primarily on improving the nasal tip
rather than altering the nasal bridge.
Because the nasal bridge was already sufficiently prominent due to the hump,
it was left untouched.
A non-implant approach was selected,
with extension of the nasal tip using autologous costal cartilage only.
During consultation, I was informed that elevating the nasal tip
would also help reduce nostril flaring by providing better structural support.
Postoperatively, this effect has been clearly achieved,
and the excessive widening of the nostrils during smiling
appears to be well corrected.
Compared to the early postoperative period,
the nasal line at two months has become significantly more natural.
The columellar scar is now barely noticeable.
The costal cartilage donor-site scar is still in the healing phase,
and I was advised that some scarring may persist until around six months postoperatively.
After full maturation, it is expected to fade
and remain only as a subtle, pale line.
