More Than One Year After Revision Rhinoplasty for Contracted Nose and Face & Neck Lift
본문

It has been over one year since I underwent revision rhinoplasty for a contracted nose,
along with a face lift and neck lift, performed by Dr. Kim Hyun Joo at RU Plastic Surgery.
Both procedures have settled very well,
with no noticeable scarring or foreign-body sensation.
The scalp area where the temporoparietal fascia was harvested shows no visible scar even on close inspection,
and the rib cartilage donor site has healed into a thin, pale line.
The incision at the columella is also barely noticeable.
For the revision rhinoplasty,
autologous rib cartilage was used for both the nasal dorsum and the nasal tip.
This appears to be a commonly used and reliable approach for contracted nose revision at RU Plastic Surgery.
I tend to swell less than average,
so the nasal shape already looked favorable even immediately after splint removal.
That said, when comparing selfies from that early stage to current photos,
there is a subtle difference—
the nose now appears smaller, slimmer, and more refined.
Regarding the face and neck lift,
I had previously undergone facial contouring surgery,
which left me with some mid-cheek sagging and mild jowling that obscured the jawline.
These issues have improved significantly after the lift.
Compared to the early postoperative period,
the tissues now look less tightly pulled, which I actually prefer.
Initially, the tightness made the cheekbones appear more prominent,
but the current result looks much more natural.
The swelling from the face lift lasted longer than that from the rhinoplasty.
I came to RU Plastic Surgery through a referral from an acquaintance,
who mentioned that Dr. Kim Hyun Joo specializes in complex revision rhinoplasty.
Looking back, I am very grateful for that recommendation.
Having both revision procedures succeed in a single course
feels truly fortunate, and I am very satisfied with the outcome.
