One-Month Review After Autologous Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty
본문

Because both my nasal bridge and tip were low and blunt,
my face often appeared dull and unfocused, which caused significant stress.
After years of careful consideration and research,
I came to understand in detail the potential complications of rhinoplasty, the surgical process itself,
and the critical importance of both the medical facility and the operating surgeon.
My goal was to correct a bulbous nose and
low nasal height while minimizing the risk of complications as much as possible.
After reviewing numerous cases and understanding the characteristics of different surgical materials,
I decided to proceed without implants and use only autologous cartilage.
Using autologous rib cartilage even for the nasal bridge significantly increases surgical difficulty,
and I learned that very few surgeons are willing to perform this approach.
I wanted to avoid high-volume, factory-style clinics and
was looking for a place where both the surgeon and staff were attentive and considerate.
While watching surgical vlogs on YouTube, I found results that aligned most closely with my aesthetic preferences,
and the overall atmosphere of the clinic and the surgeon’s operative philosophy felt like an excellent match for me.
After piecing together information from the videos, I identified the clinic as RU Plastic Surgery.
I did not visit multiple hospitals, and on the day of my consultation,
I placed my deposit immediately. The procedure included correction of a bulbous nose and short nose,
with both the nasal bridge and tip elevated by approximately 4 mm, using exclusively autologous rib cartilage.
The cost was honestly far beyond what I initially expected,
but I have absolutely no regrets.
The surgery was performed using a method designed to minimize the risk of warping,
and because no foreign materials were introduced, my concerns about contracture were significantly reduced.
Postoperatively, rib discomfort was manageable and not severe;
I was able to remove the compression band by the second day and resume daily activities.
There was virtually no nasal pain, and bruising and swelling had mostly resolved by the first week.
However, until about two weeks postoperatively,
I experienced frequent nasal discharge and relied on gauze regularly.
Having spent my life receiving negative comments about my nose,
it has been almost surreal to now receive frequent compliments on my appearance,
even during routine visits such as hair appointments.
When wearing makeup, people around me cannot tell that I had rhinoplasty at all.
Although bulbous nose correction is often considered challenging,
my nasal shape was refined without the need for alar reduction.
The contour from the nasal bridge to the tip is remarkably natural, and the nostrils are precisely symmetrical.
At approximately 25 days post-surgery, my nose already feels like it has always been a part of me.
This procedure has brought a profound sense of satisfaction and confidence,
and I remain deeply grateful for the outcome achieved at RU Plastic Surgery.
