Short Nose Revision Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

After my previous rhinoplasty,
I was left with a short nose and asymmetrical nostrils,
which constantly bothered me
and became one of my biggest insecurities.
I had been thinking about revision rhinoplasty for a long time,
and after recommendations from people around me,
I started researching different clinics.
While looking through before-and-after photos,
the results from RU Plastic Surgery stood out the most,
so I immediately scheduled a consultation.
During my consultation,
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim's approach matched exactly what I was hoping for.
He explained everything thoroughly,
and because this was a revision procedure,
I had many concerns.
What gave me the most confidence
was the personalized one-on-one care
and the fact that RU Plastic Surgery is a single-surgeon clinic
rather than a large, high-volume practice.
My surgical plan included
autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip,
a silicone implant for the bridge,
nasolabial angle adjustment,
and columella lowering.
After surgery,
I had virtually no pain in my nose.
The rib cartilage donor site felt uncomfortable
for about three days when I moved,
but it was never severe enough
to interfere with my daily activities.
Overall,
my recovery was much easier than I had expected.
Since this was a revision surgery,
I thought I would experience severe swelling and bruising,
but although there was some swelling,
I had almost no bruising at all,
which really surprised me.
When my splint was removed one week after surgery,
I was thrilled to see that my nose
already had the exact contour I had hoped for.
Now, at two weeks post-op,
most of the swelling has already gone down,
and looking back,
I'm so glad I chose RU Plastic Surgery for my revision rhinoplasty.
