Men's Revision Rhinoplasty with 3D-Customized DCF – 2 Weeks Post-Op
본문

Eight years ago,
I underwent rhinoplasty using septal cartilage
and alar reduction to improve my bulbous nose.
However, I never felt that my bulbous nose
had improved significantly,
and people around me rarely noticed any change,
which left me feeling disappointed.
My main concerns were my bulbous nose,
a slightly crooked nasal tip,
and the step-off between the bridge and the tip,
so I decided to undergo revision rhinoplasty.
Because I preferred to avoid implants,
I specifically looked for a clinic
that could reconstruct the nasal bridge
using autologous rib cartilage.
While researching through Naver communities
and plastic surgery apps,
I learned that RU Plastic Surgery
offers a fully autologous bridge augmentation
using the DCF technique.
What appealed to me most
was that the RU DCF technique
uses an Innofit 3D-Customized Mold
to help reduce the resorption of diced rib cartilage,
while also avoiding concerns associated with synthetic implants.
That was the main reason
I decided to proceed with a fully autologous rhinoplasty.
My surgical plan included
autologous rib cartilage for strong nasal tip support,
approximately 2.5 mm of DCF augmentation for the bridge,
nasolabial angle adjustment,
and bulbous nose correction.
Although the cost was higher than at other clinics,
I really liked Dr. Hyun Joo Kim's aesthetic approach,
and among the clinics performing autologous rib bridge augmentation,
RU Plastic Surgery gave me the greatest confidence.
After surgery,
my nose itself was not painful at all.
The rib cartilage donor site
was quite uncomfortable,
making it difficult to walk for the first few days,
but after about three days,
the pain improved enough to be manageable.
Cosmetically,
my nasal bridge is now higher,
giving my T-zone much better definition.
My nasal tip also turned out
exactly as I had hoped—
without drooping, deviation,
or an unnatural step-off,
while maintaining a masculine appearance.
Most importantly,
the bulbous nose that had always been my biggest concern
has become much slimmer from the front,
which has made the biggest difference for me.
Since I'm only two weeks post-op,
I know this isn't my final result yet.
I'm also aware that some resorption
can occur with diced autologous rib cartilage,
so I do have a little concern about that.
Even so,
I'm extremely happy
with how my nose looks at this stage.
