One-Month Review After Revision Eye and Nose Surgery at RU Plastic Surgery

I underwent revision rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage, along with non-incisional double-eyelid surgery, upper epicanthoplasty, and ptosis correction with Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
After my first rhinoplasty, my nose became deviated and the silicone implant felt mobile, so I underwent revision surgery at another clinic. However, even after the second rhinoplasty, the nasal tip gradually drooped and I was still dissatisfied with the bulbous appearance. Because of these concerns, I eventually decided to undergo a third rhinoplasty.
I had also undergone double-eyelid surgery about seven years ago, but over time the crease became thinner and one side partially loosened. I wanted to make a subtle improvement to the line, so I decided to undergo revision using the buried-suture technique.
During my consultation with Dr. Kim, I felt that his approach to rhinoplasty, including both the surgical method and the choice of materials, was noticeably different from what I had experienced at my previous clinics.
He carefully evaluated not only the appearance of my nose but also its functional aspects. Rather than focusing only on height, shape, or creating a standardized nose based on current trends, he considered my overall facial proportions and individual features in detail.
I felt that his aesthetic approach was especially distinctive because he focused on creating balance through the central features of my face rather than simply changing the nose in isolation.
For the eyes as well, he designed the double-eyelid height and line according to what I wanted, which gave me confidence in proceeding with both the eye and nose procedures together.
On the day of surgery, Dr. Kim again considered the overall balance of my face while finalizing the design. Seeing how carefully he approached the planning made me feel that I had chosen the right clinic.
Immediately after surgery and even after the anesthesia had fully worn off, I personally experienced virtually no pain through the night.
The nasal packing was also not kept in for an extended period, so the congestion was more manageable than I had expected. Aside from some throat irritation, I did not find the early recovery particularly difficult.
Even while the nasal splint was still in place, I could see parts of the new nasal line and tip, and I was already very pleased with the shape. During the first week, I focused on taking my medications as instructed and using cold compresses while looking forward to seeing the result more clearly each day.
Now that one month has passed, I feel much more confident about my side profile because of the new nasal shape.
My boyfriend had originally been concerned that the result might look too obviously operated, but even he now tells me that my nose looks very natural and attractive. My father, who has always been strongly opposed to cosmetic surgery, also acknowledged that the result turned out well.
I had hoped that this would be my final revision rhinoplasty, and at this point, I feel very satisfied with my decision to have the procedure at RU Plastic Surgery.
As the nasal tip gained more projection, the alar area also appears narrower, and the increased three-dimensional definition has made my overall facial proportions look more refined. I also feel that my face appears smaller and more balanced.
I am especially satisfied with the position and shape of the columella, which turned out very close to what I had hoped for. Once the remaining swelling around the glabella subsides further, I feel that the nose will be very close to my ideal result.
For the eyes, I chose a somewhat more defined double-eyelid crease, but the swelling has not been excessive and the current shape already matches what I wanted.
I am very pleased with the eye and nose lines Dr. Kim created, and I feel that the concerns and stress I had carried for years about both areas have finally been significantly reduced.
