One-Month Review After Functional Rhinoplasty for a Short Nose
본문

I underwent functional rhinoplasty with Dr. Hyunju Kim, the director of RU Plastic Surgery.
It has now been one month since surgery, and I can clearly see that my nose looks longer and more balanced than before.
From the frontal view, the amount of nostril show that previously made my nose appear upturned has improved significantly following short nose correction.
When the nasal splint was first removed, my nose still looked quite swollen from the side and three-quarter angles. At that time, the swelling made the overall shape appear much more prominent than I expected.
Now, however, a significant amount of swelling has subsided, and from the frontal view, the nose looks noticeably slimmer and more refined than before surgery.
I recently returned to the clinic for my one-month postoperative follow-up.
During the visit, postoperative photographs were taken, including comparison photos of my nose and the autologous rib cartilage donor site.
Although most of the swelling has decreased, I still have some bruising along the side of my nose. I asked when it was likely to fade, and I was told that bruising can sometimes take longer to resolve in certain cases.
For now, I am continuing to apply the bruise cream as instructed.
I also appreciated that the scar at the autologous rib cartilage donor site was carefully examined during the follow-up.
The clinic additionally provided scar ointment for the donor site, which has been helpful for continuing scar care at home.
At one month postoperatively, I am very satisfied with the improvement in the short and upturned appearance of my nose, and I am pleased with how much more refined and balanced the overall shape has become.
