Two-Week Review After Functional Rhinoplasty

I had been interested in rhinoplasty since middle school, but because I tend to be very cautious when making decisions, I spent many years simply thinking about surgery while continuing to feel self-conscious about my nose.
Eventually, in my late twenties, I decided that I was finally ready to undergo the procedure.
I first became interested in RU Plastic Surgery after seeing Seoyeon’s rhinoplasty result on Instagram. I really liked the shape of her nose, and after looking into where she had her surgery, I learned that it had been performed at RU Plastic Surgery.
As I continued researching, I was especially impressed by Dr. Hyunju Kim’s ability to create refined results even in more complex rhinoplasty cases. That was when I felt that this was the clinic I wanted to consult with.
The type of nose I wanted was not excessively high or dramatic. I hoped for a well-defined and refined shape that would still look natural and suit my facial features.
During the consultation, I was very pleased that Dr. Kim had a similar aesthetic direction in mind. He also used photographs to explain the surgical plan in a way that was easy to understand, which made the consultation feel very clear and reassuring.
Since this was my first rhinoplasty, silicone was used for the nasal bridge and autologous rib cartilage was used to provide structural support for the nose.
I also underwent two functional nasal procedures to improve my rhinitis symptoms.
Before surgery, I had watched many recovery videos on YouTube and expected that I would experience significant facial swelling and a difficult early recovery period.
However, when I saw myself after surgery, I was genuinely surprised by how little facial swelling I had.
The swelling has also continued to decrease very well over time.
Because the nose plays such an important role in the center of the face, I am especially happy that the result gives me more definition without looking overly high or artificial.
Most importantly, I feel that the new nasal shape suits my facial features very naturally.
At two weeks postoperatively, I am extremely pleased with the combination of improved definition, balanced nasal height, and overall harmony with my face, and I am very happy with the progress so far.
