One-Month Postoperative Review After Implant Removal and Non-Implant Revision Rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery
본문

During my first rhinoplasty,
a silicone implant was placed in the nasal bridge.
However, I experienced repeated hematoma formation and inflammation,
which caused significant emotional distress over a long period of time.
After deciding to have the implant removed,
I researched several clinics and noticed that RU Plastic Surgery
was frequently recommended in online communities,
which led me to schedule a consultation.
During the consultation,
Dr. Kim Hyun Joo was the first surgeon
to clearly and accurately explain
why blood accumulation had continued to occur in my nose.
He also explained that by using autologous rib cartilage,
the likelihood of experiencing the same problem again
would be extremely low.
Based on this explanation,
I decided to proceed with revision surgery.
This time, I underwent non-implant revision rhinoplasty
using only autologous rib cartilage
and rectus fascia,
without any artificial implants.
I am now one month postoperative.
I had been very worried about the rib cartilage harvesting process,
but it was far less painful than I had expected.
Compared to my first surgery,
both bruising and swelling were significantly milder,
which I was very satisfied with.
Most of the major swelling had already subsided by the second week,
and as the residual swelling continues to resolve,
the nasal contour is settling into a more natural and refined shape.
There is still a slight foreign body sensation inside the nose,
but I believe this will improve gradually with time.
Overall, the recovery process has been reassuring,
and I feel relieved knowing that I chose
a safer and more stable surgical approach at RU Plastic Surgery.
