This is my 2-month postoperative review after contracture nose revision surgery
and the complete removal of the previous implant at RU Plastic Surgery.
My first rhinoplasty was performed at a major clinic purely for cosmetic purposes.
However, I started to notice that the silicone seemed to be showing through
the nasal tip, so I began searching specifically for contracture revision experts.
I found many reviews about RU Plastic Surgery and decided to visit in person.
I sincerely hoped that my nose was not actually a contracture case,
but during the consultation, I was informed that it indeed was.
The skin on my nasal tip had become so thin that the silicone was nearly
penetrating outward.
To allow tissue recovery with stem cell therapy, the surgeon strongly recommended
removing the implant first due to its protrusion.
After the consultation, I underwent complete implant removal as soon as possible,
and then continued intensive stem cell treatment every two weeks.
Approximately four months after implant removal at RU Plastic Surgery,
I finally had my contracture revision surgery.
All materials used for the revision were autologous tissues only.
For the dorsum, scalp fascia combined with rib cartilage was used,
and for the nasal tip, rib cartilage was applied.
The surgical plan also included columellar reconstruction
and short nose correction.
Dr. Kim Hyun Joo emphasized thoroughly that RU primarily performs surgery
using autologous tissues.
The aspects I wanted to improve most were the upturned short nose
and the bulbous nasal shape.
Early after the revision, the rib cartilage donor site felt tight,
and the incision above the hairline for the fascia made me self-conscious,
but as time passed, satisfaction has far outweighed any discomfort.
My skin is naturally thick, so from the front, it is not yet a perfect 100%,
but I feel confident in my daily life.
Because my job requires direct face-to-face interactions,
I really disliked how visible my nostrils were from the front before.
Now, the nasal shape has normalized and I am sincerely satisfied.
I can barely remember how my nose looked previously.
The side profile, in particular, has become beautifully balanced,
and I am truly grateful.
To be honest, I think it looks even better than after my first surgery.
