RU Plastic Surgery – Revision Rhinoplasty Performed on September 23 Nostril Angle and Shape Improvement Experience
본문

I underwent revision rhinoplasty on September 23 at RU Plastic Surgery.
My first surgery was in 2017, using septal cartilage.
At that time, I chose a clinic that was popular on social media
because a very beautiful influencer had her nose done there.
I had always been concerned about my upturned nose.
I tried filler and other procedures, but remained dissatisfied,
so I decided to proceed with surgery.
After the 2017 operation, I felt that it was better than before,
yet I still wished my nostrils would come down further.
Years later, I returned to the initial clinic for a consultation.
They told me that lowering the columella was possible,
but changing the nostril angle and shape itself
would be a very difficult surgery.
I spent a long time reviewing before-and-after photos
from many different clinics.
Most showed changes only in the nasal bridge and columella,
and very few seemed capable of actually correcting
the nostril angle and shape.
Later on, I happened to watch a YouTube vlog
from a creator named Akong who documented surgery at RU.
I noticed how Dr. Kim personally removed the sutures
and how satisfied the patient was.
I was more impressed by the clinic’s attitude
than the rhinoplasty result itself,
so I looked into the clinic more carefully.
When I saw their before-and-after results
showing clear improvement in nostril shape and angle,
I immediately booked a consultation.
There was about a two-month wait,
so I decided to carefully consider my options
and visited another clinic in the meantime.
Their before-and-after photos for noses similar to mine were good,
but the surgeon insisted that only he knew the secret technique,
refusing to explain because it was confidential,
like a “secret recipe.”
That left me feeling uneasy.
In contrast, Dr. Kim Hyun Joo explained the entire surgical method
in a way that even I, not a specialist, could understand.
He said he would use autologous rib cartilage,
and because my nose is small and short with limited skin,
he would also graft skin harvested from inside the nostrils.
This additional skin would allow the nostrils
to be lowered effectively.
His explanation gave me confidence,
so I decided to proceed with surgery at RU Plastic Surgery.
The day after surgery, when the nasal packing was removed,
I could already tell that my nostrils had been lowered
even with the splint still on.
I hoped they would come down a bit more,
and Dr. Kim reassured me that they definitely would.
Now, just under one month post-op,
they have improved significantly.
What impressed me the most
was the level of postoperative care.
As soon as I woke up from anesthesia,
Dr. Kim checked on my condition personally,
and he also performed all splint and suture removal himself.
I have had several cosmetic surgeries,
but I have never experienced this level of surgeon involvement.
At many clinics, it is difficult to even see the surgeon afterward,
but here, I felt cared for from beginning to end.
Since healing speed varies by person,
Dr. Kim examined the internal sutures
and decided they should be removed a week later,
rather than immediately.
If it had been handled by a nurse
without clinical judgment,
the timing might not have been optimized.
These details showed a strong focus
on preventing inflammation and complications.
The clinic also checked in on me regularly,
which I truly appreciated.
The cost was admittedly quite high,
but I believe compromising on surgical skill
just to save money
would have been the wrong decision.
I am so satisfied that I am already recommending
RU Plastic Surgery to my own family.
Being confident enough to recommend it to relatives
says everything about my experience.
