Revision Rhinoplasty Experience at RU Plastic Surgery Sixteen Years After Initial Surgery

Sixteen years after my first rhinoplasty,
my nasal tip gradually became more upturned over time,
and my alar base widened, which had always left me feeling dissatisfied.
I consulted with several clinics,
but none gave me enough confidence to proceed.

I decided to proceed with revision rhinoplasty.
At around two weeks after surgery,
I briefly wondered if I should have increased the height a bit more,
but as time passed,
the nasal line gradually settled
and began to harmonize naturally with my facial features.
In particular, the alar reduction was performed very subtly,
resulting in a refined appearance without looking obvious,
which I am extremely satisfied with.
It has now been approximately six months since the revision surgery,
and overall, the results feel stable and natural.
Because the skin on the left side is relatively thin,
there is slight surface irregularity,
but there is no associated pain.
For patients with thin skin,
I would recommend discussing this aspect carefully during consultation.
My surgical plan included
autologous rib cartilage,
a silicone implant,
nasolabial angle correction,
alar reduction,
and correction of a bulbous nasal tip.
