Three Months After Autologous Rib Cartilage Revision for Deviated Nose and Nasal Discomfort
본문

I decided to undergo revision rhinoplasty because I had a persistent deviated nose,
frequent cold sensations inside the nose, and recurring nosebleeds.
After consultation, I chose to proceed with surgery
under Dr. Kim Hyun-joo at RU Plastic Surgery.
For the nasal dorsum, silicone and Megaderm (acellular dermal matrix)
were used to cover the implant,
and for the nasal tip, autologous rib cartilage was used.
Short-nose correction, columellar strut lengthening,
and nasolabial angle correction were performed together.
I experienced minimal swelling.
Compared to day one, both the dorsum line and the nasal tip contour
stabilized beautifully, and I am fully satisfied with the result.
Since the revision surgery, I have had no cold sensations
inside the nose and no nosebleeds at all.
Now that it has been over three months since my autologous rib cartilage revision,
I wanted to leave another update.
My original surgery many years ago used a straight silicone implant,
and over time, the nasal tip began to deviate,
which eventually caused chronic cold sensations inside the nose.
This led me to decide on another revision.
In this revision, the nasal dorsum was corrected
using silicone with Megaderm for coverage.
For the nasal tip, autologous rib cartilage was used,
along with short-nose correction, columellar lengthening,
and nasolabial angle correction.
Now at one month postop, the deviation and cold sensation
have been almost completely resolved,
and I am truly satisfied with the improvement.
