189-Day Review After Revision Rhinoplasty for Contracted Nose

It has now been 189 days since my revision rhinoplasty for contracted nose.
The main reason I decided to undergo revision surgery was that over time, my nose gradually started to appear more upturned.
It wasn’t very noticeable when I smiled, so I didn’t think much of it at first.
However, when I saw myself in photos, the lifted tip became increasingly obvious, which made me decide to have revision surgery.
The main goals I wanted to achieve were:

To correct the upturned appearance of my nasal tip in both the front and side views.

To create a natural nasal bridge and a softly rounded nasal tip.
Most importantly, I wanted the overall impression of my nose to look natural and balanced.
I found RU Plastic Surgery while researching contracted-nose revision cases online,
and after reading several patient reviews, I decided to book a consultation.
At first, I didn’t expect to actually schedule the surgery,
but after meeting Dr. Hyun Joo Kim, I felt confident and decided to proceed before spring arrived.
In preparation, I received stem cell therapy once a week leading up to surgery.
The procedure involved autologous rib cartilage for both the nasal bridge and tip,
using finely diced rib cartilage, temporalis fascia, and other autologous tissues.
Additionally, Dr. Kim performed contracture correction, nasolabial angle adjustment, and pinched-tip correction.
The aspect I was most anxious about was general anesthesia,
as I was worried about nausea or fatigue after waking up.
The surgery lasted about three and a half hours.
On the first day, I didn’t feel much pain at the rib-harvest site—
surprisingly, the area where fascia was taken from my temple was more uncomfortable.
Because the entire surgery used my own tissue, swelling and bruising lasted a bit longer than expected,
especially around the nasal tip, which was noticeably bruised at first.
Now, nearly six months later, everything has healed well, and the bruising has completely disappeared.
Initially, I was slightly disappointed because the nasal tip still looked puffy,
but as time passed, it became slimmer and much more natural.
I believe it will continue to refine even more toward the one-year mark.
I chose to trust Dr. Hyun Joo Kim for my final contracted-nose revision without hesitation,
and I’m genuinely satisfied with the outcome so far.
The shape is stable, natural, and continues to improve over time.
