1 Month After Revision Surgery for Contracted Nose
본문

Twelve years ago, I developed a contracted nose as a complication from my initial rhinoplasty. I underwent revision surgery for the contracted nose, but I was dissatisfied with the results. It was important for me that the columella was sufficiently lowered and the uplifted nasal tip corrected. Since lowering the columella is challenging, the surgical technique and aesthetic outcome were both crucial, so I thoroughly researched and consulted many specialists.
I studied reviews from patients with similar nasal conditions and was particularly impressed by the beautiful results in Dr. Hyunjoo Kim’s cases, especially those showing significant improvement in columella lowering. That led me to choose RU Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Kim performed the revision surgery using autologous rib cartilage and temporalis fascia, employing durable materials that reduce the likelihood of absorption of the grafted tissue, thus ensuring long-lasting results. The surgeon explained the procedure in detail, which gave me confidence in the approach.
I truly hoped this would be my final revision for contracted nose. My previous revision also used rib cartilage, but the graft was absorbed over time, causing the nose to shorten again. After this latest surgery, breathing through my nose was difficult initially due to nasal packing, which was quite uncomfortable, but the pain was less severe than expected.
Now, at one month post-op, there is still significant swelling to subside. My nose still feels somewhat swollen and bulky, but I am pleased that the columella has lowered well, markedly improving the previous uplifted nasal tip appearance. While I hope it will lower a bit more, I have been informed that as healing progresses, the nasal tip angle will continue to settle and the overall shape will improve. I am optimistic that my nose will become even more beautiful over time.
