6-Month Review of Autologous Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty for Men

After
The tip of my nose was reconstructed using autologous rib cartilage, and the dorsum was also slightly augmented with the same material. Knowing that only my own tissue was used gives me added reassurance, especially considering the potential complications like inflammation often associated with silicone implants. Since the surgery utilized materials from my own body, I believe the risk of such side effects is minimal.
Originally, I had a short and small nose, which was a significant source of insecurity. However, this first surgery appears to have been very successful in addressing those concerns. I’ve heard that rhinoplasty often requires multiple revisions, and from what I’ve seen around me, that seems true. Thankfully, my result suits my facial features well and hasn’t drastically changed my overall appearance, which I’m glad about.
I underwent the procedure at RU Plastic Surgery under the care of Dr. Kim Hyun-Joo.
