3-Week Follow-Up After Primary Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage

After
The reason I first decided to undergo surgery was because I was unhappy with my drooping nasal tip and the appearance of a wide nasal bone. Initially, it was just a minor annoyance, but every time I looked in the mirror or took photos, I wished my nasal tip was slightly elevated and the nose a bit more defined.
While researching, I came across photos of patients who had surgery at RU Plastic Surgery through the Yeouya Cafe. I was drawn to the natural volume and shape of their nasal tips and columella, which looked very appealing—not thin or artificial. After thoroughly reviewing their website, blog, YouTube, and all available patient reviews, I went for a consultation.
From the consultation, I felt confident that this clinic wouldn’t neglect me after surgery, so I ranked RU as my top choice. I allowed myself plenty of time to consider, asked the coordinator multiple questions, and ultimately chose RU.
On the day of surgery, I initially struggled with breathing due to nasal packing, but over time, the pain from both the rib cartilage donor site and the nose subsided. Although my nose felt very congested after the packing was removed, Dr. Kim Hyun-joo and the nursing staff meticulously cared for me, for which I am very grateful.
Before the nasal splint was removed, I was anxious because I couldn’t really judge the outcome. Now, three weeks post-op, I clearly see that all my requests have been carefully reflected in the results.
I wanted a natural, slightly elevated, and straight nasal line rather than a flashy or overly refined nose. As the swelling goes down, I can feel that Dr. Kim did her utmost to meet my needs and deliver the desired look.
My drooping nasal tip feels stable and well-supported, and the depressed area between my eyes was effectively filled with autologous rib cartilage, without using silicone implants. Considering this, I’m very satisfied—essentially, I had surgery without any synthetic implants.
