Revision Rhinoplasty for a Short Nose Using Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

After my first rhinoplasty, I experienced recurrent inflammation and eventually underwent revision surgery,
including removal of the implant from my nasal bridge. However, the pain later returned,
and I continued to feel that the underlying problem had not completely resolved. Because of this, I decided to undergo one final revision rhinoplasty.
I first came across RU Plastic Surgery through a promotional listing on a plastic surgery app.
After reading patient reviews, I initially hesitated because the overall cost was relatively high.
However, I was drawn to the clinic because the rhinoplasty results appeared noticeably more natural compared with those of many other clinics,
and I also appreciated that Dr. Hyunju Kim frequently utilized autologous tissue in his surgical approach.
During my consultation, sliced autologous rib cartilage was recommended for my case.
The auricular cartilage and septal cartilage that had previously been placed inside my nose were removed,
and my revision surgery was planned using sliced autologous rib cartilage for the nasal bridge and autologous rib cartilage for the nasal tip.
The surgical plan also included short nose correction, columellar lengthening, and the use of rectus fascia.
It has now been two months since my revision surgery, and I am very satisfied with the result so far.
The overall shape is neither too subtle nor overly dramatic,
and I feel that the nose has been designed with a refined yet natural appearance that suits my facial features well.
I am very grateful to Dr. Hyunju Kim at RU Plastic Surgery for creating a result that feels well balanced and appropriate for my face.
