2-Week Postoperative Review: Double Eyelid Surgery + Rhinoplasty
본문

After
Before undergoing surgery, my biggest insecurities were my monolids
and extremely low nasal bridge.
That combination gave me a strangely youthful and tired appearance—
my under-eye area always looked puffy and dark.
I tolerated it for a while,
but eventually, I reached a point
where I truly wanted to experience life with a different face.
Coincidentally, someone very close to me—like a real sister—
was planning to undergo rhinoplasty due to an infected implant.
She had spent an entire year researching surgeons
and ultimately decided on Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
I trust her judgment implicitly,
so I followed her lead and went in for a consultation.
I wasn’t confident that my flat nose could be meaningfully improved,
but Dr. Kim assessed my case and assured me with confidence,
“This is definitely fixable.”
That reassurance, along with the detailed and trustworthy consultation,
gave me the confidence to proceed
with both eyelid and nose surgery.
My procedure included non-incisional double eyelid surgery,
ptosis correction,
medial epicanthoplasty (inner corner incision),
under-eye fat repositioning,
and primary rhinoplasty using a silicone implant
and autologous rib cartilage.
To be honest, I’m someone who gets extremely nervous—
even before a needle goes in—
so I expected the worst.
But surprisingly, the procedure and recovery
were far more tolerable than I imagined.
I felt almost no discomfort from the eyelid surgery,
and the nasal discomfort was comparable
to that stinging sensation when water accidentally enters your nose—nothing more.
Even the rib cartilage harvest site caused virtually no pain,
to the point where I questioned
whether I had actually undergone surgery.
Of course, facial bruising and swelling are inevitable
with procedures like these,
but the swelling subsided so quickly
that even those around me were surprised.
And the results—my mother was the most shocked (and pleased),
saying things like,
“Wow… money really does make a difference.”
Friends and acquaintances didn’t recognize me at first—
even in person or in photos.
When they saw the “before” pictures,
they finally understood the transformation.
It’s funny how I’m already starting
to forget what I used to look like.
To sum it up:
if you can endure about 10 days of discomfort,
you get to enjoy your new face for the rest of your life.
For me, the outcome has been incredibly satisfying.
Without a doubt, I highly recommend RU Plastic Surgery—
not just for rhinoplasty,
but for eyelid surgery as well.
They truly excel at both.
