Six Months After Male Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage

After
I’m now six months post-op after my rhinoplasty with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery. Before surgery, I had an upturned nose with a pinched nasal tip and often received comments that my nose looked “unusual.” It was a long-standing insecurity for me.
Now, however, people frequently compliment my nose, asking whether I’ve had surgery and where I had it done. Hearing things like “your nose looks great” or “your face has changed in such a good way” has been incredibly rewarding.
It’s still hard to believe how much of a transformation one surgery can bring. A part of my face that used to be my biggest insecurity has now become one of the features I’m most confident about. I truly feel that Dr. Kim performed the surgery in a way that complements my facial structure, creating a natural and harmonious result.
For the procedure, a silicone implant was used to augment the nasal bridge, and dorsal hump correction with osteotomy was performed. The nasal tip was reshaped using autologous rib cartilage for structural support and refinement.
Up until around the 3-month mark, I still noticed a bit of fullness when looking at my nose from the front—likely residual swelling. But by 6 months, there’s been a noticeable improvement in definition. I’ve also been dieting recently, which may have contributed to the more refined appearance.
Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with both the aesthetic and functional outcomes of the surgery.
