1-Month Review After Autologous Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery

After
For several years, I had been considering rhinoplasty due to a low nasal bridge and a lack of facial definition. After extensive research into clinics that specialize in autologous rib cartilage procedures, I came across RU Plastic Surgery on Instagram. I was impressed by Dr. Kim Hyun-joo’s surgical approach, patient outcomes, and the overall professional atmosphere of the clinic, which led me to confidently move forward with the surgery there.
I had previously undergone a non-surgical rhinoplasty (HIKO), so part of my procedure involved removing the HIKO threads. For this revision, autologous rib cartilage was used for nasal tip projection, and a silicone implant was placed along the nasal dorsum. Additional procedures included alar base refinement, correction of a bulbous tip, and nasolabial angle adjustment. Because my skin is relatively thin, there was concern that the implant might become visible over time, so MegaDerm (acellular dermal matrix) was used to reinforce and provide soft tissue coverage over the tip.
Now at one month post-op, most of the swelling has subsided, and I am experiencing no discomfort. I've received many compliments from friends and family saying the results are beautiful and natural, which has significantly increased my own satisfaction. What was once a source of insecurity—a small, flat nose—has now been transformed, giving my face much more definition and balance. I’m extremely pleased with the outcome.
