6 Months Postoperative Review: Dorsal Hump Reduction Using Autologous Rib Cartilage Without Implant
본문

It has been six months since I underwent dorsal hump reduction surgery at RU Plastic Surgery using only autologous rib cartilage,
with no synthetic implant. For the nasal tip, autologous rib cartilage was used as the structural material.
The dorsal hump was shaved down, and instead of inserting a silicone implant,
a small amount of rib cartilage was layered to even out the nasal bridge. My nose had appeared slightly deviated from the front,
likely due to the dorsal hump, but that has been corrected very well.
Because no foreign or artificial material was used, I feel more at ease mentally.
That said, the nasal tip is quite firm, and I can't push it upward like before.
Sometimes when I’m using my phone and it slips near my face,
I instinctively panic—worried it might hit my nose.
Before the surgery, the hump was quite prominent, most likely due to a childhood injury. Since it's at the center of the face,
it stood out a lot. I had always wanted to correct it, and I finally went through with the procedure before turning 20.
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim was extremely meticulous with both the surgery and the follow-up process. Every check-up has been very thorough.
I'm satisfied with the overall nasal shape and contour. Friends and classmates frequently mention that I look much better,
and some have even become interested in rhinoplasty after seeing my results.
