2 Months After Primary Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

It’s been two months since I underwent primary rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage.
I had previously maintained my nose shape with filler alone, but over time, the dorsal area began to spread out and take on an "avatar-like" appearance.
So I had the filler dissolved and decided to finally undergo proper rhinoplasty.
One of my acquaintances had a very successful result with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery,
so we went together for a consultation.
Since my nose was relatively small and short, it was clear that autologous rib cartilage would be the best option.
I already had a good impression of Dr. Kim, who is known for being skilled at harvesting rib cartilage,
so I went into the consultation almost certain about the surgery.
The aftercare and clinic atmosphere exceeded my expectations, so I scheduled the surgery shortly after.
Now, two months post-op, I’m very pleased with the results. My nasal tip has a nicely rounded shape,
and the bridge gives off both a straight and slightly curvilinear (semi-straight) look
depending on the angle—something I really like.
While fillers can be effective for enhancing the nasal bridge, when it comes to the overall shape and definition of the nasal tip,
nothing compares to proper rhinoplasty. I’ve also heard that among all plastic surgeries,
rhinoplasty has the highest revision rate. That’s why I’m especially satisfied that I was able to achieve this result on the first attempt.
