Autologous Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty to Refine Bulbous Tip and Enhance T-Zone Definition – Postoperative Reflections
본문

My primary motivation for undergoing rhinoplasty
was to significantly improve the bulbous tip appearance from the front view
and to achieve a more defined and structured T-zone
I specifically wanted a clinic
that specializes exclusively in autologous rib cartilage procedures
and a surgeon with a strong aesthetic sense.
That’s how I discovered Dr. Hyun Joo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
His one-doctor system also aligned well with what I was looking for.
I appreciated that the clinic was transparent
about both pre- and postoperative results,
and the postoperative care system inspired trust and confidence.
Dr. Kim performed the surgery using his signature technique:
L-shaped columellar extension graft, along with bulbous tip correction,
osteotomy, and augmentation with a combination
of silicone implant and autologous rib cartilage.
One thing that impressed me
was how he carefully selected the appropriate implant height
based on my individual forehead and facial proportions.
Looking back, I think the chosen silicone size
blends very naturally with my features.
Recovery was a test of patience,
requiring careful management and diligence—
it wasn’t an easy journey,
but I saw it as a necessary process
in order to achieve the nose I had always wanted.
Although I still have residual swelling around the alar base,
I can already see clear improvements
both from the front and the profile view.
I’m very satisfied with the progress
and excited to see the final result as the healing continues.
