Two Months After Revision Rhinoplasty for Contracted Nose Using Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

Before

It has now been over two months since I underwent revision rhinoplasty
to correct nasal contracture using autologous rib cartilage
for both the nasal bridge and tip.
I am sharing this experience in hopes that it may be helpful
to others who are going through similar concerns.
Prior to surgery, I had developed a contracted nose,
which caused the nasal tip to appear upturned.
I was also dissatisfied with the low nasal bridge,
which contributed to an unbalanced profile.
After extensive research online,
I came across RU Plastic Surgery.
Coincidentally, a trusted acquaintance also recommended the clinic,
which gave me further confidence to schedule a consultation.
From the very beginning,
I had a strong feeling that this was the right place for my revision.
Dr. Hyun Joo Kim was meticulous during the consultation
and continued to be equally attentive
throughout the post-operative follow-ups.
He carefully examined every detail of the healing process
and took the time to explain each step,
which gave me a strong sense of trust and reassurance.
Now, at the two-month mark following my revision surgery,
I can genuinely feel that my nose is stabilizing.
The tissue feels soft and pliable—
an encouraging sign of proper healing.
I would say it feels about 85% like my own natural nose at this stage,
and full sensory function has returned.
What stands out is the consistency in the shape of my nose.
Whether I’m looking in the mirror or taking photos,
the nasal contour remains stable,
indicating that most of the swelling has subsided.
Aesthetically, the bridge now has a well-defined line,
giving the nose a refined appearance.
The nasal tip, which was previously contracted and pulled upward,
now sits naturally and smoothly—
so much so that it’s hard to believe
it had ever been affected by contracture.
