6 Months After Revision Rhinoplasty for Alar Asymmetry and Pinched Nose Correction
본문

It has been over six months since I had my revision rhinoplasty at RU Plastic Surgery, and I’m currently very satisfied with the results.
Before the surgery, one of my biggest concerns was the noticeable asymmetry between my nostrils when viewed from the front—even when my head was tilted downward,
the difference was obvious. The degree of pinching was also uneven on both sides, which constantly bothered me.
This was my first revision in over 20 years since my initial surgery, so I spent a lot of time researching and visiting multiple clinics. Looking back,
I can confidently say: this was my final nose surgery, and the right decision.
Because I believed my case involved thin skin and a higher level of complexity,
I specifically looked for surgeons with extensive experience in nasal reconstruction and difficult revision cases such as contracture correction.
That’s how I ended up consulting with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery—and I’m so glad I did.
The results have given me a much fuller, softer, and more feminine nasal contour. Just as I had hoped,
my new nose has a subtle curve that suits my face very well.
For the reconstruction, autologous rib cartilage was used for the tip, and a silicone implant was placed along the dorsum.
To prevent translucency due to my thin skin, Megaderm (acellular dermal matrix) was layered over the implant.
I believe this method contributed to the natural, well-blended appearance without any visible transparency, even with the increased projection.
Every visit—whether for post-op care or follow-up—Dr. Kim has been consistently kind and attentive.
Her gentle manner and thorough explanations truly helped me feel at ease throughout the recovery process.
If you're dealing with nostril asymmetry, a pinched tip, or contemplating a complex revision,
I wholeheartedly recommend a consultation with Dr. Kim. This experience has truly given me both aesthetic satisfaction and peace of mind.
