9 Months After Male Functional Rhinoplasty with Sinus Surgery
본문

It’s been 9 months since I had functional nose surgery with Dr. Kim Hyun-joo at RU Plastic Surgery, so here’s my review.
Before surgery, my nose had a noticeable bump caused by a previous injury. During consultation,
I had a CT scan which showed that my nasal septum was significantly deviated and my airway was narrow.
Since the functional rhinoplasty is partially covered by insurance, I also had sinus surgery (for rhinitis) at the same time.
At first, my nasal mucosa was swollen, and I wasn’t sure if the functional surgery was working.
But after about a month, the swelling subsided and breathing became much easier — smooth and clear.
Now, my straight nasal bridge is exactly what I wanted, and having a well-centered nose really improves my overall facial appearance.
The area where rib cartilage was harvested was red for about 3 months but by 6 months it turned white and gradually became more translucent.
For anyone considering rib cartilage harvest, just forget about it and it will fade over time!
