6 Months After Full Autologous Rib Cartilage Revision Rhinoplasty

It has been just over six months since I underwent revision rhinoplasty
using full autologous rib cartilage with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery.
My primary surgery involved a silicone implant with ear cartilage,
but not long after, the area between my eyes began to protrude unnaturally—
often referred to as an “avatar nose.”
Eventually, the area became swollen and appeared inflamed around the silicone.
At the time, I assumed this was simply how my nose was meant to look
and tried to live with it.
Recently, I had the opportunity to seriously consider revision surgery
and began searching for cases similar to mine.

autologous rib cartilage for both the nasal bridge and tip,
with the bridge cartilage carefully sliced into thin layers.
I still remember the moment when the nasal splint was removed;
I was shocked by how swollen my face looked at the time.
However, now at the six-month mark,
both the major swelling and residual puffiness have subsided,
and the shape has matured into a well-balanced nasal line
that I am truly happy with.
I have an upcoming follow-up appointment
and plan to ask about a few minor concerns.
