One-Year Postoperative Update Following Revision Rhinoplasty with Autologous Rib Cartilage
본문

It has been nearly one year since I underwent revision rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage,
and I am still satisfied with the outcome.
As there have been no complications or concerns,
I haven’t needed to return for follow-up in quite some time.
Previously, there was a subtle deviation from the nasal dorsum to the tip,
but it has been effectively corrected and remains straight without any signs of recurrence.
The nasal tip appears higher and less bulbous than before, contributing to an overall refined appearance.
The scar at the donor site from rib cartilage harvesting is barely noticeable now.
Initially, there was a visible white line, but it has gradually faded and become more inconspicuous.
I chose to have this surgery after seeing the successful result my sister had with Dr. Hyunjoo Kim at RU Plastic Surgery,
and I feel confident that it was the right decision.
Compared to previous rhinoplasties that used septal and auricular cartilage,
the nasal structure now feels firmer due to the use of rib cartilage.
However, the aesthetic and structural improvements make this a worthwhile trade-off.
