Three Months Postoperative Review Following Secondary Rhinoplasty Using Autologous Rib Cartilage for Tip Ptosis Correction
본문

At the three-month mark following my secondary rhinoplasty,
I’ve noticed a significant return of sensation in the nasal area, and my nose is beginning to feel more like my own.
One notable downside is the firmness of the nasal tip due to the use of autologous rib cartilage.
Compared to septal cartilage, the rib graft creates a much firmer tip,
and I occasionally find myself surprised by the rigidity when inadvertently touching the area. Nonetheless,
I am satisfied with the outcome, as the likelihood of future tip drooping seems greatly reduced.
Another drawback is the scar at the rib harvest site, which remains red and slightly irritated.
This may vary from patient to patient, but in my case, the area is in constant contact with undergarments,
which may be contributing to prolonged redness and sensitivity.
In the early postoperative period, I noticed that the left side of my nose appeared more swollen than the right,
but now the contour has evened out, and the shape looks much more symmetrical and natural. As time progresses,
the nose continues to refine and appears slimmer. While I understand that the final result may take 6 to 12 months,
I am highly satisfied with the current outcome.
