Two Weeks After Functional Rhinoplasty & Crooked Nose Correction
본문

Before / 2w post-op
I had a severe deviated septum, which caused significant nasal obstruction and rhinitis-related symptoms.
At the same time, my nose was visibly crooked, so my face looked noticeably different depending on whether it was viewed from the left or right side.
This had always been one of my biggest concerns.
The main things I wanted to improve were the crooked appearance of my nose, including the dorsal hump, as well as the functional problems with my breathing.
Someone I knew had heard about a patient who underwent surgery at RU Plastic Surgery and had a very good result.
That led me to look through RU Plastic Surgery’s Instagram and website.
I really liked the overall aesthetic of the rhinoplasty results, and the before-and-after photos matched the type of nose I wanted, so I decided to have my surgery here.
During my consultation with Dr. Hyun Joo Kim, he recommended correcting the crooked nose, using autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip,
and placing a silicone implant along the nasal bridge.
When I first saw my nose after surgery, I was honestly very surprised.
My nasal tip looked extremely upturned, and my entire nose seemed much larger than I had expected.
However, after the nasal packing and silicone splints were removed and the swelling gradually started to subside, the tip came down significantly.
I was pretty worried at first and kept telling my Counseling Manager that my nose looked way too upturned.
Looking back now, I may have panicked a little too much! But it really did settle down as the swelling improved.
Based on my experience, men with thicker nasal skin may also notice quite a dramatic appearance during the very early recovery period,
but the shape can change considerably as the swelling subsides.
The first major improvement I noticed is that my nose now looks much more balanced from different angles.
I especially like how much better the shape looks from the front.
The second improvement was something I did not expect.
I have a relatively angular face, and I used to be self-conscious about areas such as my cheekbones and jawline.
After giving my nose more height and definition, however, I feel that those features are much less noticeable.
My facial proportions look more balanced, defined, and masculine overall, which is something I am very satisfied with.
